Vachiratharn Waterfall

The Vachiratharn waterfall is located within Doi Inthanon National Park. If hiking is not your forte, then this is the Chiangmai waterfall for you and your family. The parking lot is at the base of the falls and it is an easy walk to see the beauty of the falls. There is a trail to the left of the falls which will lead you to the crest of the falls. Be cautious as you hike up the trail, the rocks can become quite slick during the rainy season.

The Vachiratharn Waterfall is a good place to take a break during your trip to the summit of Doi Inthanon. There is a nice restaurant which has the basic Thai rice and noodle dishes. Restrooms are also well maintained for those family members that need a potty break during your daytrip to this Chiang Mai waterfall.

Vachiratharn Falls is one of the most beautiful Chiangmai waterfalls. The flow over the falls is very fast and the mist will blow over you during the rainy season. It reminds me of Niagra Falls, only on a much smaller scale. Just in case there are readers unfamiliar with Niagra Falls, it is on the border of the US and Canada just north of New York state.

We have made two visits to Vachiatharn waterfall and it was very worthwhile both times. It is a nice area to relax and take a break during your drive to or from the summit of Doi Inthanon. There is no extra expense to visit the falls, it is included in your ticket when you enter Doi Inthanon National Park.
