Chiang Mai hotels are designed to meet the needs of your family. There are economy hotels for the budget conscience family and luxury hotels for families that want a full service hotel for their Chiangmai family holiday.  There are literally hundreds of travel agent websites which offer discount rates for Chiangmai hotel bookings. For Thailand hotel bookings, I recommend using HotelThailand.com. They offer a wide range of Chiang Mai hotels at discounted prices. Another good site is Asiarooms.com.

I am not selling Chiang Mai hotel reservations but feel it is important to include some recommendations for hotels in Chiangmai. We live here in Chiangmai now, but before moving to this great city we stayed at many different Chiang Mai hotels while on business or holiday in Chiang Mai.

One of the nicest hotels in the budget category is the Holiday Inn. This hotel was formerly the Westin and most recently a Sheraton group hotel before being taken over by Holiday Inn. The rooms are very large and with over 500 rooms available, they often offer discount prices for this very elegant hotel along the Ping river in Chiang Mai.

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn and really enjoyed the large room with an excellent breakfast buffet which was included in the cost of the room. The Chiangmai Holiday Inn is not real close to some of the popular Chiangmai attractions, but there are always Chiangmai tuk tuks and other Chiangmai transportation options within walking distance from the front door.

If your family needs luxury accomodations while on holiday in Chiang Mai, we have you covered. Chiang Mai has seen tremendous growth in five star hotels in recent years. We have had the super luxurious Four Seasons Resort for many years, but now Chiang Mai also has Shangri-La, Sofitel and Le Meridian to help round the luxury hotels in Chiang Mai. If your travel budget can handle the cost of five star accomodations during your Chiangmai family holiday, then you just need to decide which one best suits your family. You can never go wrong when you stay at a luxury hotel.

It is much harder to weed out the good and not so good hotels in the budget category. There are plenty of options for low priced hotels and guesthouses in Chiang Mai. But if your accomodations are too simple is it really a holiday for the family? There are certainly good Chiangmai hotels in the budget category, but if you have never visited Chiangmai how will you know which hotel is the best option for your family holiday?

Here are a few of the Chiang Mai hotels I recommend if you plan to stay in Chiang Mai. One of the nicer budget hotels is the Mountain View Guesthouse, located on the north end of the old city. The rooms are not fancy but the accomodations are adequate and the service is excellent.

When choosing a Chiang Mai hotel, the location is very important. Most of the Chiang Mai adventure activities are north of the city. The best shopping is in the old city and Night Bazaar area. So decide what is most important for your family holiday and choose a Chiang Mai hotel near your favorite Chiang Mai attraction.
